The CBFA Goat Banking Program is a unique opportunity to participate in agriculture, even if you don’t own land. Designed to support economic empowerment and food sovereignty in Black, African, and Caribbean communities across Canada, this program allows members to invest in livestock ownership while we take care of the farming.
Introduction
The Canadian Black Farmers Association is offering a opportunity for Black, African, and Caribbean community members to dive into agriculture in Canada, even if they can’t afford land or a big investment. This program is designed to give people a head start in the industry, especially those who lack access to land or resources to start on their own. The goal is to help participants build skills and experience so that within five years, they can expand and establish their own farm if they choose to. To make it accessible, the Association is subsidizing 2/3 of the cost, with each participant contributing just $1,000 to kickstart their journey as a new farmer.
Please note: to participate in the Goat Banking program you must be a CBFA Member in good standing. Not yet a member? Please click below to join now. If you would like more information about the program and/or becoming a CBFA member, please send us a message below.
