Recognizing that a large majority of our members are women, and seeing the gap in genuine community support for women in agriculture, the Canadian Black Farmers Association created The Women’s Circle. This program, led by CBFA’s female leadership team, provides a safe, welcoming, and empowering space for all women in agriculture, regardless of background, race, or experience level. We understand that women’s experiences are unique, and this initiative was created as a supportive container where those experiences can be shared, celebrated, and strengthened.
The Women’s Circle is a women-led initiative of the Canadian Black Farmers Association, created as a safe and supportive space for ALL women farmers to connect, share experiences, and grow together. Through monthly virtual sessions and in-person gatherings, the Circle brings women from across our network into conversation on topics that matter, from farming challenges and leadership opportunities to wellness, advocacy, and community building. More than just meetings, it is a space where women feel seen, heard, and valued, while also cultivating skills, resilience, and leadership for the future of farming. By coming together in this way, we strengthen not only individual women, but also our collective power to shape food sovereignty and agricultural change in Canada.
